Investing In The Ultimate Home Entertainment System

home entertainment system

It is a well-known fact that sound accounts for 80% of your movie-watching experience. It’s one of those things that aren’t noticed at the time because you can’t see it. You’d think that as TV screens continue to get flatter, the sound quality would increase at the same rate as the visual but in actual fact, a 65-inch TV these days has four speakers barely the size of a two-pound coin! To make matters worse, those seeking a better movie experience will be advised by the audio experts to invest completely unnecessarily in the region of £2000 in sound equipment. So if you’re looking to boost your film-viewing experience a little more in the direction of cinema-quality without bursting the budget then this is how its done

Audio set-up

It’s general knowledge these days that surround sound is really how it’s done. For the standard living room size, we’d recommend a 5.1 speaker set-up. “5.1” is audio-tech-whizz-jargon talk for five speakers and one subwoofer to boost your bass. Some audio enthused persons may advise you to go higher eg. 7.1 or even 9.1, but for a home system we recommend sticking to the trusted 5.1 which is still guaranteed to shake your furniture during any ferocious action movie.

Cables

When it comes to the decision to go wireless, we’d still recommend sticking with our trusty, retro friend the cable. Bluetooth speakers only reduce the sound quality you’ll receive and can be temperamental. With the installation advice you’ll receive with our team here at A Clearer Picture, we can ensure you’re system will be set up with the most clutter free, aesthetically pleasing solution possible.

Location

We’d also recommend steering clear of speakers that can be installed straight into the wall. Whilst having the edge as far as looking impressive is concerned, the dampening of your drywall again compromises the quality of the audio. Speakers that sit on your floor or on a shelve are designed to produce the highest sound quality from the dampening of their own casing alone, so for the best experience we suggest placing them in their designed location.
